\n I\n was speaking with a good friend the other day saying that I am almost \nfinished renovating the property I have now lived on for over a year and\n they asked, \u201cSo, where are you going next?\u201d 
\n
That\n question made me stop and think about \u201cLIFE\u201d\u2026my life, my jobs and all \nthe homes, studios and gardens I\u2019ve lived in, designed, built, or \nrenovated; all the art I have created in those spaces,  and all the \nfriends who have gathered in them for life events. 
\n

My Comings and goings in a nutshell:

After\n finishing my BFA at Alfred University and MFA at Syracuse University my\n career as an arts administrator led me to Greenwich House Pottery in \nNew York City, as only the third Director in it\u2019s 80 year history which \nsubsequently led to a position at The American Craft Museum, also in New\n York City, setting up a Department of Education. 
\n
A\n short time after moving from New York to Mendocino, California to be \nthe Director of the Mendocino Art Center I took an opportunity to change\n my focus from administrator to full time studio artist which I have \nhappily been for the past 30 years. During those years I\u200b opened \u201cSBW fine textiles\u201d with two nationally marketed lines of hand \ndyed women\u2019s silk velvet clothing and a limited edition of hand screened\n silk bedding.  I also received a research grant from Syracuse \nUniversity to study the pre-Columbian pottery on several of the \nGrenadine Islands.

In the years that followed I traveled with my sister to China in \naddition to experiencing an amazing time in Mongolia where the \ntemperature was 40 below zero and we lived in a yurt as guests of a \nnomad family. The award of an International Artist opportunity took me \nto Indonesia where I lived and worked in the artist\u2019s compound on the \nIsland of Java with side trips to Bali and Borobudur.

 \u200bMy\n work has been shown and sold through venues across this country \nincluding opportunities to work with founder of \nPacific  Textile Arts, Lolli Jacobsen and expanding my visions with \ninstallations in the wonderful space formerly known as Odd Fellows in \nMendocino. At present I am putting the \nfinishing touches on my latest project\u2026 restoring a home, landscape and \nstudio in Florida where I can continue
